This role would suit an experienced Architect who is looking to transition into Construction.
Responsibilities:
- Design Lead – Pre-construction and Standards: This is a 2ic leadership role which provides support to Head of Design and has overall responsibility for the management of pre-construction tenders, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) design management across all sectors and partnering with the Design Director to embed front-end buildability design innovation and minimum design standards.
- With significant Design leadership expertise across a range of sectors, this role requires a creative problem-solving mindset and collaborative, client focused interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, identify and prioritise key outcomes in a pressured environment.
- Summary of key responsibilities and duties:
- Leading design management of pre-construction and tender submissions
- Leading ECI design management, design thinking and stakeholder management
- Leading the development and maintenance of design standardisation through development of company standards, systems and processes
- Leading the coordination of ESG/ESD, services and digital engineering input in pre-construction phase
- Technical design management guidance as required
- Contribute to business planning objectives
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or engineering
- 8 + years of experience in design management in the construction industry
- Experience working on largescale construction projects from $80m upwards
- Experience of pre-construction design
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
- Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with building codes and standards
