With a healthy pipeline of negotiated and hard-dollar tender opportunities, they’re looking for an Estimator who can confidently take ownership of bids, contribute commercially, and become a key part of the preconstruction team.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll be responsible for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate first-principles estimates across fit-out, refurbishment and new build projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Managing subcontractor pricing, scope reviews and trade package comparisons
- Conducting site inspections and identifying pricing risks/opportunities
- Building detailed cost plans, BOQs and tender submissions
- Working closely with Directors, Project Managers and delivery teams on methodology and buildability
- Managing RFIs and clarifications throughout tender periods
- Supporting value engineering initiatives and alternative pricing strategies
- Assisting with tender handovers to delivery teams post-award
- Maintaining strong subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Proven Estimating experience within commercial construction
- Exposure across fit-out and/or new build projects
- Experience pricing projects in the $2m–$25m range
- Strong understanding of local subcontractor markets and construction methodology
- Ability to read and interpret drawings/specifications confidently
- Commercially sharp, detail-focused and deadline-driven
- Experience with estimating software and Excel-based pricing systems
- Local Melbourne commercial construction experience highly regarded
- Salary package in the $150k–$200k range
