This is a key senior appointment within the business and will suit a commercially astute construction professional looking to step into a leadership role with genuine influence.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will take ownership of the commercial function across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring financial performance, risk mitigation and contractual compliance across the portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading commercial strategy across fit out and new build projects
- Management of head contracts and subcontract agreements
- Overseeing procurement and negotiation of trade packages
- Overseeing cost control, forecasting and financial reporting
- Assist with management of complex variations, claims and EOTs
- Cash flow forecasting and margin protection
- Mentoring and leading Contract Administrators
- Working closely with Project Managers to drive programme and cost outcomes
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
- Managing key client, consultant and subcontractor relationships
- 10+ years’ experience in commercial construction
- Demonstrated delivery experience on fit out and/or new build projects ($10M–$50M)
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standard contracts
- Highly developed negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial acumen and financial reporting capability
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management or similar
- Senior leadership position with direct access to Directors
