My client is a well-regarded builder operating for over 10 years across the Class two residential and Commercial sectors they are known for delivering very high end builds across the North Shore, Eastern Suburbs and Inner West predominately up to $100M.
They currently have a requirement for a leading Hand to join the business on a $40M 18 apartment 5 level build which high end finishes in Sydney's Eastern suburbs.
This is a great opportunity for a carpenter or leading hand looking to take a step up with a builder who will put together a dedicated career development plan working closely with a Site Manager who is keen to mentor.
The Opportunity:
This role is for a motivated and skilled Leading Hand who will oversee and manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their work aligns with agreed scopes, specifications, designs, and contracts.
This key role works closely with the Site Manager and requires a proactive individual with the ability to exercise initiative and judgment to maintain the highest standards in safety, quality, scheduling, cost management, and environmental care.
As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing day-to-day site operations and ensuring project timelines are met
- Working under an experienced Site Manager, carrying out outlined duties
- Coordinating trades, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standard
- Conducting site inspections and reporting progress
- Assisting with hands-on work including safety installs when required.
- Cert IV Trade in Carpentry or TAFE Building Diploma.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, and associated software.
- Class 2 Building experience.
- Working knowledge of the Building Code of Australia, Security of Payments Act, WHS Act/Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
- Strong organisational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
